Oblivion... does it get old?
04 Aug 09, 02:08:00

I played 2 different charichters for over 300 hours each on Oblivion for PC, so I know I got my moneys worth. I saw a second hand copy for the PS3, and I had to give it a go--I just wish I could import my killer PC save game.

I going a Kajik this time. Just jumping around and annoying people (tiggers can bounce!). I havnt done ant quests yet, just running around throu aylid ruins...

I was playing it for a while the other pay and I thought--"Man, this game is so much like Fallout, no more like... oh wait."

How awsome is this
24 Apr 09, 03:04:00

this review of Bioshock2 made me want to jerk off untill it is on the shelves... seriously thou, it looks good--I hope Im not dissapointed

I dont belive in cheating...
11 Apr 09, 09:04:00

...but Im not against those that feel they need a bit of a hand--really if your stuck on a level then yoour not going to experience the whole game, so If you feel you need tocheat--in whatever form it may be then, so be it.

that said, I found this site that has save games for the PS3, they also have some other more interesting downloads if your feeling a bit more adventurous.

check out there download section to see what they have to offer.

The end dude: Bioshock spoiler
27 Mar 09, 09:03:00

Just finished Bioshock
last night, in anticipation of the sequel to be out later in the year. and I must say that the end dude (which is atlas, who is really fontaine!) is a bit too easy to kill, shit i found nitro splicers harder to kill.

the ending had some unanswered questions and Im wondering if i would get a diffrent result if I rescued the little sisters instead of harvesting them all. guess i have to start over and find out.

Farcry 2
19 Mar 09, 08:03:00

Im more of a fan of the game engine than the game itself. I love burning down forests, now i can do it in the comfort of my own home. However there were a few plot issues that put me off Farcry2. I was playing it for the first time, gin and tonic in reach, and yet i still kep dying of malaria!, this shat me to no end.

so i shelfed the game at 2%, i had fallout to clock--civil war in africa is outranked by neuclear war in america.

When I picked up the game again recently I noticed somting that if id known prior, it may have given me more incentive to put the disk in: Player Built Maps!

YES!, you can build you own maps in farcry2, why did nobody mention this to me before? I have been a modder on PC's for years and never for once thought (ok, little big planet dosnt count) that modding would be a "thing" on the consoles--man times have chaneged since the first PS console!

the toolset is certainly no NWN2 toolset, but its easy to pick up--I would even assume for those with no 3D experience, and the terrain generator is fairly realistic. Its a little strange going from building worlds on a PC than it is sitting on a couch using a controler to smoth out terrain, but its also a bit more relaxed than at the desk, ciggi ash falling in keyboard and eyestrain from a 19 inch CRT that is on its last legs.

I have yet to check out any of the User Built maps online--I choose to keep the PS3 disconnected from the network for "bandwith" reasons, but when ive got my little deathmatch finished i'll share and share alike with the rest of the malaria infected gamer community!

Would you want this next to your TV?
10 Mar 09, 06:03:00

this is the worst case mod I have seen on a PS3... I have seen much worse on PC boxes thou...

would you want that in your louge room?

Bioshock 2
10 Mar 09, 12:03:00

When i herd this was announced my first thought was "awsome". but if this article is true, and Take Two announced it early to keep stock prices up then it will be some time before the game is in my PS3 and im killing splicers with exploding shotgun shells...

and Im happy to wait. I waited for GTA4 and was dissapointed with a game thats half finished, so the more I have to wait, the better and more refined the final game will be.

Id rather see it released in 2010 and have a better game, (with more guns and ammo than the original) than have it pushed thru to get in to peoples xmas stockings. This is not a childrens game anyway!, PARENTS DONT BUY THIS FOR YOUR CHILD NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY BITCH AT YOU!. Id rather wait to the first quater of 2010 to not have all the good bits of voilence removed to adhear to Australias draconian cencorship laws (btw: more games are banned in Australia than China and Saudi Arabia combined!), Id rather wait for the game to be perfect and bug free than to have it rushed to the shelfs...

Also, Im still only halfway thru the original--give me time to clock!

Xbox Ads on my Blog
09 Mar 09, 02:03:00

This site has ads, they earn an insignifigant amount each time somone clicks... we all know how it works. I was curious as to the Xbox advert when I looked at this blog the other day...

well if Xbox ads get clicks from a PS3 blog then what can I say

Rotascoping in Mirrors Edge
09 Mar 09, 01:03:00

I hated Waking life--fuckin psudo-exestential horseshit. and the rotascoping made me more ill than the story or lack there of. So when I saw the cut scenes in Mirror's Edge were of a similar style, i wasnt sure if it worked.

My first reaction was: They spent ages making a highly detailed city, and then rotascope the fuckin cutscenes--althou its not realy rota scoping, its probably just a clever flash annimation...

A few cut scenes later and the style is growing on me. this tactic of making games more like television (see my post on Siren Blood Curse) is definatly a good step. A step to interactive TV perhaps?

Im still not going to watch waking life again, however

Siren Blood Curse
06 Mar 09, 02:03:00

I picked up a game the other day from the bargain bin at EB--Siren Blood Curse. I had never heard of the game before but, Sirens, Blood and curses are all elements that constitute a good game...

(i cant think of any curses in GTA thou... plenty of blood and sirens!)

It kinda shits me how they added the noise to the visuals, on a 42in bravia it looks like shit--but the Idea they used to make the game play out like a television series is fuckin awsome!.

thou this is not GOTY contender its still a good few hours of running from zombies, and thats what we all want from a game isnt it?

Remote play with the PSP
05 Mar 09, 11:03:00

I brought a PSP for the sole intent of using its remote play function with my PS3--i should have done som eresearch into this before making the purchase.

Im hoping the developers start to utilise this technology, How would Fallout 3 be if you could use your PSP your pipboy?, its not like expecting consumers to buy a $200 controller for a game is too much--there is Gutar Hero for instance.

how would Farcry2 be if you had your GPS active on the PSP screen constantly. It would give more depth to the titles and would... be just fuckin awsome!

I guess we can only wish

PS2 ports
26 Feb 09, 10:02:00

With a lack of titles on release, Sony started to re-port some of there older titles onto the PS3 platform, this is a smart move for them as wel as consumers like myself who had never owened a PS2. But they didnt port all the games!, NO. One game that they should have moved across is GTA San Andreas. I would still buy that game, and I know im not alone in that, but all we can really do is wait and hope--or start learning how to build games ourselfs, get a job with Rockstar or Sony and steer them from within.

Another thing that gets me annoyed about the older games being moved across is they fail to utilise the advances the new console brings, surely the creators of Need For Speed could have some download content avalible for Carbon, it might even persuade owners of the PS2 version to lash out and get the PS3 version--having the downloadable content free would certainly be an incentive for fans of the franchise that have already clocked the game?

And graphical enhancements?, it wouldnt be too hard to add in some more detail without modifying the game too much, Im thinking Anti-Ailiasing maybe?. some of the PS2 titles are getting on in years, maybe the software houses should start looking at making 5th or 10th anniverary GOTY editions of titles from years past. hopfully somone does somthing because one thing is for sure, we can never get enough games.

My PS3
26 Feb 09, 10:02:00

I originaly recived my PS3 as part of Sony's Bravia promotion--you buy a TV and you get a playstation for free, cool. It was the first games console I had owned since the PSX (the original playstation) and having been a bit of a PC modder, the first thing I did was take out the 40 Gig hard drive it shipped with and replace it with a 250 Gig that spins at 7200rpm, (game load times are not somuch increased by this mod, but saving is).

I have since started to build a collection of games, and even tryed running Linux on it, thou I will be waiting for more development in this arena before getting rid of the PC all together [shhh, it might hear me]
